Jacob Goetze is a 2008 OF/2B with a 6'4'', 180 lb. frame from Zebulon, NC who is home schooled. He has a long and lean athletic frame that projects very well. Goetze is a smooth actioned athlete who looked very good in the outfield. He runs well and showed nice range in centerfield in the games. His arm stroke and throwing fundamentals are smooth and easy and his raw arm strength should keep improving. Goetze has the same type of smoothness in his swing; in fact his swing looks like the kind you see sometimes on a left handed hitter. He uses his hands well at contact and has some lift on contact. Goetze hit the ball hard to the middle of the field and showed some life in his bat. Strength will be a big thing for Goetze in the future, more of it will equal more bat speed and the ability handle higher velocity pitching. Goetze is an interesting athlete who should keep improving across the board.
