Erik Rowen is a 2010 SS/P/IF with a 5'9'', 145 lb. frame from Dublin, CA, who attends De La Salle HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team. Rowen is a very young player with a lean and athletic frame. He has room and time to grow. Defensively he has nice actions with soft hands and nice footwork. He moves well showing range and body control and fluid movements. Rowen has a quick transfer, quick release, and solid arm strength for his age. At the plate he is a line drive hitter with a simple approach. Rowen makes consistent contact to all fields, and he stays inside the ball. He stays balanced through his swing, and he tracks pitches with a good eye. Once on the bases, Rowen shows quickness and instincts. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot. He is not afraid to pitch inside with his 77 mph fastball. He stays balanced and throws with little effort.
