Nick Taylor is a 2006 RHP/1B from Pleasure Ridge Park HS in Louisville, KY, with a 6'1'', 165 lb. frame and good lower body strength. He throws from a tall and fall type delivery and an overhand release point. Taylor has a quick arm that works well and generates a 79-81 mph fastball that has some arm side life to it. Taylor's best pitch is a overhand curveball with a sharp downer break that you would expect from that release point. He also showed a nice change up at 71 mph. Taylor has three good present pitches and the type of loose body and arm that make you think he'd going to keep improving. His curveball is his main weapon. Taylor also plays first base when he's not pitching. He showed easy defensive actions at first base and a some bat speed at the plate with loft in his swing for power potential. Taylor is a good all around athlete and a good follow.
