Jim Jacquot is a 2006 C/IF from Belleville East HS in Swansea, IL, with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame. He ran the 60 I n 7.54 and threw 76 during catching drills with a best pop time of 1.93. In addition to his solid arm strength and quick release, Jacquot has advanced blocking skills and very good agility. He's a top level defensive catcher based on what we saw here. Offensively, Jacquot hits from a quiet approach with low hands. He has good strength in his hands and wrists to create bat speed. Jacquot takes an aggressive upper cut swing and attacks the ball. He shows home run type of power on contact and he's hitting from a power oriented approach. Jacquot has solid all around tools for the next level, especially on defense. He's a good student off the field.
