Dustin Mishka is a 2009 3B/MIF with a 5'9'', 170 lb. frame from Cape Coral FL, who attends Baker HS. He has a compact build with strong legs and good overall body life. He's listed as a primary third baseman but his tools, body and actions are better suited for second base. He showed good range at second base and soft and quick hands. He has the footwork to make the plays around tha bag and enough arm strength to make different types of plays. His athleticism plays. Offensively, Mishka has a quick bat from an open stance and a low hand set up. He stays short to the ball and has a quick line drive stroke. Mishka was very selective in both BP and in games and looks like he'll draw more than his share of walks. His ability to handle the bat head and take pitches might make him an idea #2 hitter. He may develop some gap to gap pop as he gets older. Overall, Mishka is a nice looking young player with good offensive and defensive tools, especially at his natural second base position. He's a good follow. Mishka is also a very good student.
