Spencer Muirhead is a 2014 C/3B with a 5-9 190 lb. frame from Oshawa, ON who attends University of Toronto. Compact strong build, fairly mature physically. Right handed hitter, busy hand load, line drive swing plane with some late lift out front at times, has good strength in his swing and creates some bat speed, showed a patient approach against live pitching and has an idea of the zone. Polished defensive actions behind the plate, keeps his footwork and exchange simple and repeatable, arm action is a bit long on his release, has good arm strength and makes accurate throws. Solid all around player who looks like he understands the game. Good student.
