Nicholas Mattos is a 2015 RHP/OF with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Turlock, CA who attends Oakdale. Large frame, strong athletic build. Pitches from a high three quarters arm slot with a long loose arm action. Good loose strength to delivery and arm action. Online drop and drive delivery, maintains downhill plane with high slot and good extension out front. Fastball has some life down in zone, changeup sinks with slight arm side fading action, good shape to both breaking balls and with increased power behind arsenal secondary offerings have a chance to develop into quality swing and miss pitches. Flashed good feel for slider, deep break to it, curveball flashes 12-6 with good shape. Significantly improved mechanics and added strength has made a big difference and development trajectory is trending in a positive direction. Named to the Sunshine West Top Prospect Team.
