Raymond Richards is a 2006 SS/2B/OF from Hoover HS in San Diego, CA, with a 5'10", 175 lb. frame. Defensively he has good feet and gets into great fielding position at either middle infield position. His hands are good, and Richards showed good body control on slow rollers. At the plate he is a switch hitter who hits from a straight away and upright stance with a narrow base. Richards has solid bat speed that makes contact from a line drive swing plane. He sometimes gets his weight out on his front side early, but when he stays back he makes solid contact. Richards has the defensive actions to play either middle infield spot in the future.
