AJ Block is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-5 180 lb. frame from Bellevue, WA who attends Newport HS. Extra tall, lean, projectable frame with long limbs. Extra projectable. Ran a 7.24 60 yard dash. Pitches from a high three-quarter arm slot and uses a high leg lift in his delivery. Has a long arm action in the back and gets good extension out front. Tops at 80 mph with his fastball and flashes a sharp 12-6 curveball with good depth at 68 mph. Varies to a slider shape occasionally. Has an up tempo, repeatable delivery. Shows good feel for his pitches. Has quick throwing actions and has nice footwork around first base. Bats left-handed, works from a wide setup and has flat line drive swing path. Shows good bat speed and performs in game action. Excellent student. Named to Top Prospect list.
