Austin Preiss is a 2015 LHP/1B with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Adkins, TX who attends La Vernia. Preiss has an athletic build. Low 3/4 arm slot from a long arm action. Fastball has late arm side run and can pitch inside to right handed hitters. Curveball showed good depth and tilt. Mixed in straight change and does good job keeping arm speed on pitch. Has good potential on mound. Hit from a square stance, line drive swing plane, quiet hands and does good job staying behind ball. Defensively, short quick arm action. Had good feet going to 2nd base on for double play. Has good body control around base. Named to Top Prospect Team and List. Good Student.
