Ausar Rankin is a 2015 C/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Statesville, NC who attends Statesville. Tall, athletic build with good speed and has room to add strength. Ran a 6.92 60 yard dash. Has good carry on his throws to second base and has quick actions behind the plate. Should have more arm strength on the way. Bats right-handed, works from an even, balanced stance. The sound is impressive off his bat and he has above average bat speed. Aggressive game approach, expands the zone at times, but has major offensive potential. Still getting stronger and produces hard line drives to all fields. Very good student.
