Michael Diaz is a 2015 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Lake Wales, FL who attends Winter Haven HS. Tall angular frame, some present strength with more to come, very athletic look. Left handed hitter, good load and shift with well timed lead foot, short inside swing with very quick hands to the ball, hits the ball hard to all fields, line drive contact with some gap power, high average approach but has it in his tool set to open up his swing for more power in the future, lots to like about his bat. Very athletic for a first baseman, moves well with good arm strength, has quick feet and moves well, looked solid at third base in games defensively. Also pitched, high 3/4's extended arm slot from a basic leg raise delivery, gets a bit cross body at release. Mostly low 80's fastballs, topped out at 86 mph early, fastball mostly straight and threw it for strikes, flashed good depth and spin on his curveball but inconsistent. Bat is very interesting and has the potential to really develop, follow closely.
