Rafael Devers is a 3B/1B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Samana, DOM who attends Lilian HS. Medium athletic build, good strength, has some thickness for his age in his lower half. Left handed hitter with a very mature feel for hitting, gets coiled and loaded with his hips, sees the ball very well, outstanding bat speed for his age, ball jumps off the barrel, hits the ball hard to all fields, has a quiet confident approach well beyond his years, can handle 90 mph velocity with no problem, tends to get longer when looking to lift. 7.00 runner, very good infield arm strength, soft hands, works through the ball well, will have to work hard to maintain lower half quickness as he fills out even more. 16 year old Dominican who will be eligible to sign July 2, 2013 and who will get very serious attention as a hitter.
