Antonio (Tony) Ortiz is a 2015 OF/1B, LHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Olympia, WA who attends Timberline. Medium frame, long lean well proportioned build. Primary position player who showed solid tools but was also effective on the mound from a very low three quarters arm slot. Crouched delivery, almost sidearm slot, good deception to delivery, tough angle coming from first base side, hides the ball well behind backside of delivery, comes through quick and loose, and manipulates the baseball well with four pitch mix. Solid bat speed and uppercut swing plane at the plate with present doubles power and projected development with strength gains. Solid arm from the outfield as well. Good student.
