Van Hoff is a 6'2" 170 pound 2006 right handed pitcher from Martin County High School in Palm City, Florida who has a good athletic body with good speed. He has an overhand delivery that results in a sharp breaking curveball at 70 mph. His fastball topped out at 82 mph. Daniel showed a plus changeup at 71 mph with some good deception to it. He also showed some promise as a hitter with his good bat speed and his ability to drive the ball with power. Van Hoff is a possible two way player who is also a good student.
