Cortlen Nielsen is a 2013 RHP/ with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Spanish Fork, UT who attends Spanish Fork. Nielsen has a large frame with a thin athletic build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. He gets fully turned at balance point with an exaggerated high leg kick. Nielsen pitches with max effort and has a violent delivery. He works quick on the mound and has arm strength. Nielsen throws an 11/5 curveball with good spin and shape. Defensively, he has developing infield actions with accurate throws. At the plate, Nielsen starts with a slightly open stance with a deep load and inside out approach. He has some at speed and extension in his swing. Excellent student.
