Troy Russell is a 2007 MIF from St. John, Indiana, with a 5'9", 165 pound frame. He hits from a closed stance, and hits line drives to all fields. He has quick hands to the ball, and showed good power to the pull side, hitting two balls on the warning track during batting practice. He showed good foot speed with a 7.28 in the 60. He has a strong arm, (76mph across infield) and made accurate throws with carry. He has a good feel for the middle infield positions, combined with a solid glove, soft hands, and excellent range, which makes him a defensive force up the middle. Troy has room to grow and get stronger, and will develop into a high level college player.
