2005 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Tim Acheson is a 2005 RHP from Morse High School in San Diego, CA, with a 6'7", 197 lb. frame. At the time of this report Acheson was an unsigned senior. He has a tall and lean frame with great projectability. He stays balanced over the rubber with clean arm action and finishes out front well with a quick arm. His fastball topped out at 84 mph with very good late life and the pitch jumps on hitters. With his delivery and long limbs he should throw much harder in the future. Acheson also mixed in a 69 mph curveball with late downer action, and a changeup/knuckle ball at 74 mph with late sinking action. He is tough on right handed hitters and will break several wood bats in his time. Offensively he has good bat speed with some present power. Acheson gets great leverage in his swing with a line drive swing plane and doesn't get cheated with his swing. Acheson plays the game hard, and is very athletic for his size. He has the talent to be a DI player, and should get that chance. Keep a close eye on him.
