David Villar is a 2015 3B/1B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines, FL who attends American Heritage HS. Solid athletic build, especially strong in the lower half. 7.43 runner, moves well laterally at third base, good soft hands at the ball, has body control and balance fielding, strong arm with carry, solid third base tools. Looks like a catcher and has a catcher's physical tools for a potential future position switch. Right handed hitter, short simple swing mechanics, well controlled swing, stays above the ball and uses his hands, line drive swing, best pulling the ball, strong at contact, more of a high average present approach than power approach. Solid all around performance. Good student, verbal commitment to South Florida.
