Stephen Kalina is a 2014 2B/SS, OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Edina, MN who attends Edina. Kalina has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he has solid actions on the infield with solid footwork. He moves well to the ball laterally and showed good transfers and release on a double play ball in game. Kalina has some arm strength up to 79 MPH and he uses a short arm action. At the plate, Kalina starts with an open stance and uses a small leg raise load. He has an inside out approach and he has quick hands to the ball. He has a flat path to the ball and made lots of line drive contact. Kalina has a high contact approach and has some hitting tools. Excellent student.
