Josh Simpson is a 2015 LHP/OF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Stafford Springs, CT who attends Stafford. Large, lean frame with broad shoulders and has room to fill out. ran a 7.56 60 yard dash. Left handed pitcher who throws from an easy, long arm action and a three quarter arm slot. Gets some downhill plane and fills up strike zone, spotting outer half well. Fastball topped at 81 mph with arm side run. Good feel for slider which shows 2/8 break with tight rotation. Curveball topped at 69 mph with 1/7 break and misses bats with pitch. Attacks the ball in the outfield, moving feet well and shows good balance. Solid defensive actions and tools play well in centerfield. Left handed batter with a fluid, quick swing. Keeps hands in close and makes consistent line drive contact to all fields. Named to Top Prospect List and Team. Excellent student.
