2004 South Top Prospect Showcase
Hunter Bell is a 2005 3B from Millsap, TX, with square shoulders and good present strength. He hits from a balanced stance at the plate with no stride and a big hand hitch that doesn’t always leave his hands in position to reach the balls up in the strike zone. Throw it low and Bell is going to drive it hard, though, as he did in both batting practice and in game action. Bell gets some extension and with his strength we imagine that he hits some home runs with the metal. Bell showed playable defensive skills with a short, quick release at third base. Bell also threw a couple of innings in relief during one game, pitching at 77-80 mph on his fastball.
