Hunter Virant is a 2012 LHP/OF with a 6-3 172 lb. frame from Camarillo, CA who attends Camarillo HS. Long loose and athletic build, very good projection. Big leg raise delivery, deep arm circle, loose fast arm coming through, extended 3/4's release. 90-93 mph fastball, some hard running life at times. Hard curveball with tight spin and sharp bite, varies curveball release point, shape and velocity with intent, very good feel for spinning the ball. Lowered release point on change up but maintained arm speed well. Fast worker and pitches to spots, very advanced idea how to pitch for someone with limited pitching experience. Very high ceiling prospect. Good student, verbal commitment to UCLA. Named to the Perfect Game All American Classic team.
