Defensively he moves to the ball well in the outfield with developing actions. He is an athletic player who can make the great catches in the outfield. Smith has developing arm strength from a long two piece arm action. At the plate, Smith starts with a tall stance and has a quiet approach. He looks to pull the ball and gets good drive from his back side. Smith has bat speed and he has some present pop to the pull side. He has strength in his swing and has some lift as well.
