Austin Smith is a 2012 LHP with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from McDonough, GA who attends Union Grove HS. Nice athletic frame, good present strength. Clean delivery mechanics, stays balanced and on line, good front side, compact arm action, high 3/4's arm slot, repeats well. Mid-70's fastball, good arm side run and sink at times, has been as high as 83 mph in the past. Varies shape on breaking ball, big 12/6 downer curveball at times, more sweep and size at other times, has feel for throwing breaking ball for strikes.
