Hester is a 5-11 junior catcher from Florida who has a medium frame and good present strength. He hits from a closed stance with a high elbow and closes off his head and chin to the pitcher. Against faster pitching Hester's swing has a longway to go in order to get in ideal position. He has the strength and natural ability to improve with some adjustments. Defensively, Hester showed some nice arm strength behind the plate and a good quick release. He is a good receiver with good feet and instincts.
