Matt is a 2006 grad from Cupertino, California with a tall lean body with long arms and legs to project future strength gains. He showed us a nice balanced delivery with a full arm stroke in back and an 3/4's arm stroke. Matt throws easily and under control and the ball leaves his hand with little tension. His fastball topped out at 82 mph and he had a good feel for how to spot and move the ball around the strike zone. Matt's curveball was 66 mph and had good spin and depth to it. With his projectable frame and easy working arm, Matt should be able to add velocity and life to his pitches over the next few years. Matt also plays some outfield and is a good athlete with nice speed on defense and on the bases. Matt is a good student.
