Ryan Day is a 2014 SS/RHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Phelan, CA who attends Los Osos HS. Slender young athletic build, room to get stronger. 7.06 runner, outstanding defensive actions at shortstop, works through the ball very well, quick sure hands with a clean and compact release, very good arm strength especially considering the compactness of his release, footwork is balanced and polished, has range, stood out in all areas as a middle infielder. Right handed hitter, bent knee stance, short contact swing, works mid to opposite field and stays inside the ball, tends to cut off out front, line drive approach. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Duke.
