Allen Marrow is a 6'0/170 2005 catcher from Albuquerque, NM, with good present strength throughout his body. Marrow is an upper body rotational hitter who steps out a bit, but stays inside the ball with his hands. His strength helps him generate some good bat speed, and he made solid contact to all fields during batting practice and games. Marrow has the physical tools to hit with the wood bat, especially with a more wood friendly approach. Defensively, Marrow showed good skills behind the plate. He has a deliberate release to the bases that emphasizes accuracy over quickness. He runs fairly well and shows athletic ability. Marrow is a very steady player.
