2007 Rising Juniors National Showcase
Ryan Buscemi is a 2009 OF with a 5'10'', 165 lb. frame from Tiburon, CA who attends Redwood HS. He has a lean and wiry build on an average/smallish frame. Buscemi has lively actions and some athleticism, with tools that grade well and make him a projectable college prospect. He really played well in the showcase and drew out attention. Buscemi showed bat speed and an aggressive nature at the plate. He wraps a bit in his load but came out of it well and was on-time to contact. He is a whole field line drive type of hitter with good pitch recognition skills and enough speed to put some pressure on the defense. Buscemi has good plate coverage and can fight off tough pitches which will give him a chance to hit at the top of the order. Defensively he has a chance to play centerfield at the college level. He runs well and has a strong arm, with enough athleticism to play a premium position. He should continue to develop well and ultimately get the chance to play D1 baseball.
