Geoffrey Waddell is a 6'1" switch hitting outfielder with a nice projectable baseball body from Ft. Worth, TX. Waddell impressed us with his offensive potential. During batting practice he showed a much better swing from the left side of the plate, with good balance, good extension and some good bat speed with wood. His swing right handed was somewhat tentative. During games, though, Waddell smoked a ball off the left field wall swinging right handed that jumped off his bat. He should get stronger as he gets older and could develop into a very nice hitter at the next level. Waddell also pitched two effective innings, throwing strikes with a 76-77 mph fastball that had consistent good cutting action. Some work on a true slider might make him a tough high school pitcher to hit. He shows very good baseball instincts and a good feel for the game. Geoffrey is an excellent student.
