2004 Underclass National Showcase
Geoffrey Campbell -- Campbell is a 5-9 junior infielder from Pennsylvania with a well developed lower half. He has good infield actions, some quickness and enough arm strength that he should be able to play both shortstop and second base well defensively. Campbell gets good use of his lower half in his swing and has good bat speed and some loft to it. Campbell also threw 3 innings and showed some potential on the mound. His fastball was 78-80 mph but it had very good and consistent cutting action to it and was a tough pitch for right handed hitters to handle on the outside half of the zone. Campbell’s 68 mph curveball also had some sharp break to it. Geoffrey is an excellent student, also.
