Gonzalez is a big, very strong, raw catcher. He has outstanding arm strength and produced a pop time of 1.92. He swings hard and creates rare bat speed. There's no doubt that the stories we've heard about him hitting balls two city blocks, are probably true. He needs some work, but he loves to play and it's hard telling just how good he may be some day. The ball sounds different coming off his bat.
