Sean McGrath is a 2008 LHP/OF from Hudson Catholic HS, residing in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, with a 5'10"/170 pound frame. Sean has a lean frame. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action. McGrath has effort in his delivery and needs to be more consistent with his mechanics. He has solid command of his fastball with arm side run at 83 mph. Sean hasa sharp 1-7 curveball at 70 mph and his change up has sink and fade at 71 mph. McGrath mixes pitches well and keeps hitters off balance. He hits from a straight stance and looks to pull the ball. Sean has lift in his swing at times with a line drive swing plane. He does get long at times. McGrath has long arm action from the outfield with a solid arm at 82 mph. He moves to the ball well and his mechanics will get better as he gets more flyballs. Sean is an excellent student.
