2007 California Underclass Showcase
Justin Fredlender is a 2008 3B/1B with a 6'0'', 167 lb. frame from Hidden Hills CA, who attends Calabasas HS. He has an athletic looking build on an average frame that will naturally fill a bit more. Fredlender is still in the development stages as a hitter and looks to have the necessary abilities and approach to be a good hitter. He hits from a square stance and employs a quiet approach to the ball with a balanced swing. Fredlender has a deep hand load and showed good bat speed that combined with some leverage he has could help him develop some pop as he gets stronger. His hitting tools are solid and he should continue to improve and emerge as a good hitting prospect for the college level. Defensively his feet work at 3rd base and he showed good hands. Fredlender has a long slinging arm action that could cause some erratic throws from that far across the diamond. He would be best at 1st base or in left field with his arm action. In all respects Fredlender is still developing as a player and he just might come on strong with the bat in time.
