Daniel Duarte is a 2008 right handed pitcher with a 6'0'', 220 lb. frame from Fremont, California, who attends Mission San Jose High School. Duarte has present strength in his body. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with raw mechanics. Duarte stays inline to the plate. He gets arm side run on his fastball that topped out at 74 mph, while working in the 68-74 mph range. He also mixes in a loose curve ball at 63 mph, and a 62 mph change up. Defensively he has solid actions at first base, and made a nice play in game action to his right. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a closed and upright stance. Duarte hits to all fields, and he has strength in his swing. He does show bat speed, and he hits to all fields.
