I had the privilege to watch tonight's game with Dodger Matt and OphiMan. Yes, I am planning to be at the game tomorrow. Can't wait to see the Beavs go 2-0. Also, go Cats, Cardinal, and Bruins.

Beating the terrorist rifle (AK-47) in the Green Chicken suit was an awesome victory for all Beaver fans. Benny was shaky, but he got through 5-plus with a lead, and the Beavs knocked out the Pac-12 ERA leader after 5.2 IP with 5 earned runs. And though Riverduck never showed up for some of that famous BeaverBob "hospitality", Bob, OpihiMan, and I were able to vent our early game frustrations on a surrogate RD in the form of a bald guy wearing weird green and yellow clothing in front of us. He had come to the park with a Beaver fan, who vouched for his behavior, so we guessed the doctors felt he was probably not a threat to others or himself, so we treated just like...well, not like family or even a friend, but...more like a weird guy in green and yellow clothes who cheered at the wrong times and made everyone feel awkward because of his inappropriateness. You know, like laughing at a funeral. So it felt like RD was there, at least in spirit. In fact, there were a number of odd people in weird green clothes there tonight. There must have been some kind of community-outreach ticket giveaway at the homes in the area, and the caretakers wanted to make sure they all wore similar clothing so they couldn't melt into the general populace unsupervised after the game....

BeaverBob and OpihiMan: It was great to share a row at the game with you guys. I'll post that photo soon.

What a tremendous, gluten-free day!

Says a fowl-weather dirty duck who has been flapping his beak non-stop because his crummy team is actually playing well. What a classy statement for a classy representative of an extremely classy fanbase...yikes! Take your loss like a man...err...pond chicken, and come back and lets go again tomorrow, there's still 2 games...we're allowed to celebrate a win.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Nice sleep last night. Bet RD was tossing and turning, wondering if the Pac-12 title is slipping through Horton and Co. fingers. Then the ducklings get to face Fry today. It was definitely a nice way to start this year's Civil War with a bang and a nice start with a revenge win for last year. Will the Beavs sweep the arguably hottest team in the nation? Stayed tuned for more at 4 p.m. eastern for more.

This is so dam exciting!!!!

FB- Actually slept pretty well. Even if we lose the rest of the games.. we are set up pretty well. My post above was a product of incessant yapping about how great your team is. I actually commended you guys, and tried to stay positive. So actually I was the one who was classy. Anyone will push back if pushed.. Too bad about stanford.. we might actually still get a seed if we get swept. That would not be too bad.

Wow- leave it up to the fanbase, but I guess just reading this put things into perspective. Classy quote from Wetzler. “We’re playing to set ourselves up. We’re not playing to stop them from winning something.’’

Hello everyone. I know, it's been awhile.

Where have I been, you ask? Well, let me tell you. I joined the United States Navy in Novemeber and left for basic training in March. I graduated basic training on May 11th. I am now at Hospital Corpsman (Medic) A-School in San Antonio, Texas.

I watched the game on Gametracker last night, was dissappointed I couldn't find the radio stream online.

I missed all of the Pac-12 conference play this year except for last weekend againts Washington State and this weekend against Oregon.

I know OM said Schultz was his MVP for the game, but I have to give it to Ryan Barnes. Clutch hit after clutch hit from that guy last night. Schultz was a close second though.

Anyways, it's good to be back and I hope the Beavers get the sweep this weekend.

Also... congratulation to Coach Pat Casey on 614. Amazing accomplishment.

Quist, I've been wondering what happened with you. I keep all the names on my spreadsheet in case people come back later in the season, and your column is empty for this year. Congrats on the medical school. (Will you become a "corpseman"?)

Anyway, welcome back.

radio84.com has a eugene stream, as long as you don't mind the most-horrific ads ever (their DJ who reads the scripts makes me cringe!). I used that all the time to listen to games when stationed in Korea... lots of 2am radio84 mornings for me.

Wow, and SouthernBeaver reappears as well. Nothing like a Civil War to bring back the old gang.

After yesterday's game, Oregon's ISR dropped from 2 to 3, and OSU's went from 16 to 11.

Section G, Row D-- just right above the where the outfield turf starts on the third base line. I hope your child feels well enough for the game. I think my daughter say her first Beaver sporting event when she was a week old. Now, she is a Beaver Freshman.

On a side note, one of her highschool advisors suggested that she go to UO. Jokingly, she told the advisor that her Daddy thinks UO is for slow kids and besides, he wouldn't pay for her to go there. The advisor called me at work and basically told me that he thought I was an awful parent and that a good liberal education would do her some good. I told him that I was fine with the liberal arts education, but that I had a problem with the socialist professors that taught the liberal arts education.
