with zona losing BOTH midweek games this week i am sorely tempted to change my pick to a sweep... but discretion is the better part of valor ill stick with the 2-1 for the beavs

Usually (from my past experiences) a ditch is the least damaging place to end up. Guardrails, other cars, etc. usually hurt cars, trucks, whatevers, real bad. The ditch is the most embarrassing though. Gotta sit and ask for help to get out.

You're right. I hit the guardrails in December, going across the Willamette. (Everything was bone dry that 20-something morning except for the bridge, which I didn't notice until it was too late.) Hit one side, bounced back to the other, totaled my truck. I was just lucky there was no oncoming traffic in that ten-second interval (there usually is quite a lot) and that the guardrails held my vehicle from going into the drink. Kinda wish it had been a ditch instead.

Have to make up ground after my poor showing. Sitting here in a coffee shop trying to get work done.. First time on the net in two days. No internet, electricity, cable.. bunch of snow sitting on the ground in Gates. Sorry BB- Not going to the Ducks game, although will be watching it via stream at O-live. Talked to my mom in Eugene, they had a bunch of snow - 8 inches yesterday, but I would think all that needs to happen on the field is to plow it off. Would be cool to see snowbanks at P.K.. soften up the collisions in the corners lol.
My picks this week will either catapult me up in the ranks or keep me in the cellar where I have become accustomed.
Good luck everyone!

I'm fine but it was embarrassing and it looked way worse than it was. The snow was ridiculously deep, couldn't open my drivers side door...had to climb out the window and push snow away.

I guess they don't teach you how to drive in snow in Hawaii.

Thanks for the visual.

Haha, the sad thing is I'm probably a better "snow" driver then alot of the Oregon-born locals. 7 years ago a buddy of mine and I drove from Corvallis to Anchorage in the middle of December and I was up there for awhile. It was alot of fun but I think the good ole AlCan Highway is meant for summer months

Very prudent. I watched AU when they played Rice here in Houston last week in a pair of midweek games that they split on. The cats are a scrappy bunch. Almost any team would welcome Alex Mejia. He is Mr. Clutch in the batters box. Not really built like a shortstop. More like an outfielder; but has a VERY quick throwing release. AU out hit Rice in the first game, but couldn't put the hits together to score and win. Day 2 they put 8 up on the board for a victory. Sorry, no disrespect ment, but I picked AU 2-1 over OSU. But then again after week 1, I'm in the bottom of the pack; as are my Devils. Best of luck to all.

FYI: It does snow in Tucson!

UA 2-1 (Zona's weekend rotation on mound are tough)
ASU 2-1 (CAL wont get swept twice)
UCLA 2-1 (Wazzu could upset; tough vs UA & CSFU)
Stan 2-1 (Card to tough at home)
Ore 2-1 (Ducks regain form at home)
UW 3-0 (CSBU outmatched)

Should'nt this forum be called PAC-11 ? Good luck to your teams!

I'm curious to see how Utah does at Oregon, but I think they'll come up short. I'm torn on the UA/OSU series. I could see that go either way, but I'm giving the nod to the home team. Otherwise none of the other series will be close.

Right? Shouldn't CU have been required to add baseball to join?

Great start by the Beavers. Two singles, two doubles, and 3 runs in the 1st; couple singles and another run in the 2nd; three hits and a fifth run in the 3rd.

"As should be done with napkins, [he] puts it in his pocket. Nothing else should be done with them." --Mike Parker.

Some napkin was blowing across the field in the bottom of the 8th when he said this. Parker had to have said that purposefully. Does anybody know why this was funny?
