Our 16th appearance. We beat OU 11-1 and were the first to punch our ticket. Feels great to be back.

Awesome Blake. I am rooting for you guys to win it all. How many fans turned out today. IMPRESSIVE. Last years super burned in LSU"S gut for not making it. I know how it feels. You guys have turned that failure into a chance to be champs. Well done!!!

Appreciate it RD. It was over 12000 fans. Electric atmosphere with some key seniors being able to get standing ovations at the end. That Stony Brook series left a hole in every fan and player of LSU, so its nice to be able to erase that and go back this year. Looks like we may be playing UCLA first if they hang on tonight.

Lots of upsets today including your rival, but I'm glad that its over and that the next time LSU takes the field, it will be in Omaha.

Thanks everybody. Great class on this board. Hoping you guys can come back and win two because I would love to play OSU for the title up there.

got your work cut out for you though, UCLA and UNC are no slouches. still think the beavs got the easier side of the draw

Indiana is playing some hot ball and so is Louisville. Sometimes that is what gets teams to the National Championship. I'm pretty confident in LSU this year though, and I'm excited about playing some quality teams out there in Omaha.

Blake,

Would really like to play the tiggers for all the marbles. According to Boyd, you and the Beavs are favored to win their side. Of course, according to him more national seeds should have been going to Omaha.

Actually, I think he just gives RPI odds. Yes?

Boyd doesn't do RPI probabilities at all. He could, but why bother? The RPI is just for seeding and selection purposes, and he considers it an inferior algorithm. All of his probabilities are ISR-based.

And here they are:
Reg Super Final Champ Team
100.0 100.0 46.1 32.1 North Carolina
100.0 100.0 10.2 5.4 North Carolina State
100.0 100.0 31.9 21.0 Louisiana State
100.0 100.0 11.8 6.3 UCLA

100.0 100.0 17.7 4.2 Louisville
100.0 100.0 10.7 2.4 Indiana
100.0 100.0 18.5 5.0 Mississippi State
100.0 100.0 53.2 23.6 Oregon State
The Beavers got a big boost in probability with Vanderbilt's, Virginia's, and Florida State's departures. Those last two numbers increased from 23.8% and 10.2% respectively, more than double what they were before the supers. UNC's and LSU's probabilities increased too--but only between 2% and 12%, because they are still in the same bracket.

First two games will be critical. For everyone. Beaver fans who were talking about shaking up the pitching order might just see it happen this weekend. I almost expect Andrew Moore to take the mound Saturday against MSU.
