F, I hope you are still up. Your Devils have taken the lead in the top of the 9th with a homerun.

How about this ASU Cal game....ASU cranks a 3-run bomb to tie it 9-9

BB
I needed a Bromo & went to best after the 4th.

I'll tell ya, Andy Lopez was so GREAT last year taking the Cats all the way with glaring holes in his team (no bull pen what so ever)...and everyone knew it!

It will take coaching like that from Esmay for us just to get through a Regional. The most "consistent" pitcher we have is our Saturday starter freshman Ryan Kellogg (got pounded last night). Even our freshman closer who is mostly "lights out" has been known to walk in the winning run. Bats are inconsistent, we got bombs, but you just can't count on going downtown every game. Esmay does not play small ball. We lead the Pac in E's. If the Devils are not careful, they will not be a regional host. Esmay will have to do a BRILLANT coaching job or purchase a large block of JNJ shares cause he will need a huge supply of Band Aids.

Interesting to look back at our discussion from a few years ago. While we have lost a few participants, we have several new ones.

Not much has changed in the way of banter.

Yea you are right SOS. Dump on Ducks. Too bad we don't have a more diverse Pac community.....from 3/26 post:

The Gods of the Schedule arranged Pac War for the weekend of 5/17/13. All of the Pac will be playing their traditional/instate rivals that weekend with the lone exception of our orphan, Utah. Here is how the stars will align:

Ariz at ASU
Stanford at Cal
OSU at Ore
UCLA at USC
UW at WSU

Gentleman, tempers will be flaring, tongues will be lashing, and blood will be spilt (figurativley of course). This is the weekend of Civil Wars throughout the Pac. The mighty may fall, futures will be altered and the meek may inherit on the next to last weekend of conference play.

Baseball: ya gotta love it.

Beavs take care of business against Stanford: CW for pac title is set... beavs have a 1 game lead.
Scenarios are as follows:

OSU 2-1 beavs have a 2 game lead and tiebreaker. Ducks would need to sweep Utah and WSU sweep the Beavers.

OSU 3-0 Beavs win Pac12 title as will have 4 game lead with 3 games left

UO 2-1 Beavs and Ducks will be tied, but Ducks will have tiebreaker Ducks would need to lose 2 against Utah while OSU would need to sweep WSU.

UO 3-0 Ducks have 2 game lead and tiebreaker. OSU needs sweep of WSU and Utah to sweep Oregon.

Week 3 scores
  • 26.0 Dodger Matt
  • 26.0 UOsportsguy
  • 24.0 ASU74
  • 24.0 JCR
  • 22.0 OpihiMan
  • 22.0 YellowlabOSU
  • 21.0 OregonStHomer
  • 20.0 hogfan4life
  • 20.0 RiverDuck
  • 20.0 SouthernBeaver
  • 19.0 Rowdy

  • 18.0 BeaverBob
  • 18.0 beaverstate69

FYI: I think this is Dodger Matt's second-ever top weekly score in five years (or however long I've been doing this), and he would have been sole owner of the top score if UCLA had lost one game. It is also UOsportsguy's third top score this year. (!)

DM- way to vote for the Ducks! There could be some serious ground being made up next week if the Ducks win. Easy pickings if you ask me.

Season averages

Here are the adjusted season scores. What I have done--something I mentioned last week that I would be doing, but which got erased in the downtime of the PG servers--is add the “loser’s score” for each week that a person has not competed all nine weeks. Thus, if you did not participate on week one and the lowest (loser’s) score that week was 11, that was the score you have inherited. Same goes for whatever week a person did not participate.

This has affected five people (*). There are seven other individuals who have participated three or fewer times. I have not included those people in the listings and will not do so going forward.
Here are your adjusted season scores:
TTL. . . AVG. . . NAME . . . . . .w13. .w12 . w11 . w10 . w09
------------------------------------------------------------
184.2. . 20.47. . Dodger Matt. . . .1 . . 6. . .5. . 5 . . 5
184.2. . 20.47. . OpihiMan . . . . .2 . . 2. . .2. . 3 . . 4

170.4. . 18.93. . OregonStHomer* . 14 . .15. . 13. .13 . .13

164.8. . 18.31. . Rowdy . . . . . .17 . .11. . 11. .10 . .10
This most affects UOsportsguy, who would probably have about 12 points more than this system gives him for his two missed weeks, based on his scores compared to the average score for each week. But he is still sitting pretty, as are at least a half dozen, maybe more, to make some big score changes over the last two weeks.

Ha, I'm definitely getting screwed this way! My average is at least 2 points per week higher. Thats fine though, been fun thinking about and following other games each week. Dodger Matt wrote:
