2020 Top Prospects

Adam Love  OF - 2020 - Roswell, GA
Lander/Georgia Highlands

Adam Love led all defensive players with a 90 mile per hour velocity from the outfield. He's athletic in the outfield moving well with smooth and quick transfers to throws. At the plate he creates big time pop off the bat working to all fields with the ability to drive the ball out of the ballpark.

Jake Rivers  SS - 2020 - Birmingham, AL
University of Alabama at Birmingham

Rivers was a solid two-way prospect at the National Academic event. On the mound as a secondary pitcher he sat 79 to 83 with the fastball and a quick and fluid arm action. At the plate he showed a repeatable swing with a strong contact swing and feel for the barrel. Rivers also posted a 6.76 60 time.

Wes Sutton  SS - 2020 - Conway, AR
Central Arkansas

Sutton, a shortstop and righthanded pitcher, really stood out on the mound. At just 5-foot-10, he creates arm speed into release with a heavy fastball up to 85 miles per hour while flashing a tight spinning curveball. The arm strength plays defensively as well with quick hands into transitions and accurate throws to the bag.

Holden Wilder  RHP - 2020 - Suwanee, GA
Wofford

The strong 2020 grad showed simple repeatable mechanics throwing from a three-quarter slot with good arm speed also getting extended out front very well. Showed a solid three pitch mix including a heavy fastball up to 85 miles per hour to go along with a big curveball with good depth at 68 miles per hour and a solid late fading change up at 74 miles per hour keeping hitters off balance consistently.

Braydan "Gabe" Spedale  OF - 2020 - Denham Springs, LA
LSU - Eunice

Speadale started the weekend off by showing his game impacting speed posting a 6.69 second sixty-yard dash. During defensiveworkouts showed athletic actions working to and through the ball with confident glove actions. Creates good momentum into throws with accurate carry to the bases and impressive arm strength topping out at 89 miles per hour from the outfield. At the plate showed a high intent swing with good bat speed and barrel control creating consistently loud, driven line drives to and through the outfield. On the mound showed athletic actions with good arm speed. Flashed a fastball up to 81 miles per hour complemented by a 2/8 sweeping breaking ball with good depth at 63 miles per hour.

Daniel Elliott  3B - 2020 - Clarksville, MD
Christopher Newport University

Elliot was impressive on the mound last weekend showing a athletic delivery with good effort through release. Flashed a good two pitch mix keeping hitters consistently off balance including a fastball with good downhill plane and late arm side run up to 86 miles per hour complemented with a 11/5 curveball with good feel up to 75 miles per hour. In the infield showed confident glove actions working to and through the ball with good arm strength topping out at 84 miles per hour across the infield. The switch hitter showed good power from both sides of the plate driving the ball consistently to and through the gaps in the outfield throughout batting practice.

Fox Locke  2B - 2020 - Shreveport, LA
East Texas Baptist University

Locke is an athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound with room to continue to add strength while not sacrificing his athleticism. He shows twitchy actions on the infield with solid arm strength that should play well on the left side of the field. At the plate he can really impact the ball with authority while controlling the barrel.

Tim Chiapel  C - 2020 - Chesterfield, MO

Chiapel really stood out behind the plate posting a 1.93 pop during the workout portion of the weekend. He creates carry with the arm making accurate throws to the bag while being quick gaining ground and utilizing a compact action in the back. At the plate he has rotational actions through a line drive plane able to drive the ball to all fields.

Grant Bournigal  SS - 2020 - Lakeland, FL
Belmont

The 5-foot-10 shortstop was smooth during his infield workouts. He has quick hands while working towards the bag throughout actions. At the plate Bournigal looks to create lift off the barrel when working to the pull side of the field. He creates separation and strength at the point of contact.

Alexander Vanlandingham  C - 2020 - Sandy Springs, GA
NYU

Vanlandingham is a very athletic 6-foot-2, 170-pounds showing high end range in the outfield. He works behind the ball well and towards the target with carry to throws topping out at 88 miles per hour. At the plate he displayed a simple swing that translated well into the games.

Caleb Chappelle  OF - 2020 - Tomball, TX
Rice

Chappelle is an ultra athletic outfielder running an event best 6.61 60-yard dash. His athleticism plays well defensively able to track down balls hit in any direction. He's aggressive to the baseball and is strong playmaker on the field. At the plate he works from a crouched stance with a direct hand path into contact.

Camden Suhoza  1B - 2020 - Collierville, TN

Suhoza showed the ability to work to and through the ball in the infield with confident glove actions. Flashed good range to both sides to go along with athletic actions working off the base and throwing to second base. At the plate showed a direct barrel path with good bat speed creating good jump off the barrel to and through the outfield.

Courtland Connally  C - 2020 - Gulf Breeze, FL
Pensacola State

Connally showed athletic actions throughout the weekend starting off by posting a 6.86 second sixty-yard dash. In the outfield showed aggressive actions working to and through the ball with to the side fielding actions. Creates good momentum into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 86 miles per hour from the outfield. Behind the dish showed polished footwork with twitchy athletic actions. Flashed fast transfers into throws with good arm strength posting a 1.81 second pop time and topping out at 77 miles per hour from behind the plate. At the plate Courtland showed a high intent swing with a naturally leveraged plane creating consistent jump to and through the gaps in the outfield when on time and squared.

The athletic 2020 started the weekend off by posting a 6.88 second sixty-yard dash. During infield workouts flashed low out front funnels with confident glove actions and good range to both sides of the infield. Displayed good arm strength across the diamond with accurate carry to the bases topping out at 86 miles per hour to first base. At the plate showed good barrel speed with a gap to gap approach. Showed the ability to drive the ball to and through the gaps in the outfield throughout batting practice. On the mound showed athletic repeateable mechanics creating consistent strikes with three pitches. Showed a fastball up to 82 miles per hour with some arm side run and sink complemented by a curveball with good depth up to 65 miles per hour and a tumbling change up at 71 miles per hour.

Owen Bruce  RHP - 2020 - Oxford, MS

Bruce was solid on the mound as well as at the plate. The 6-foot-5 righty projects well on the mound with long limbs creating sharp angle to the plate sitting 80 to 83 miles per hour with the fastball. At the swing he produces a fluid swing through a line drive plane. He works through a contact oriented approach in the box.

Mason Collins  C - 2020 - Alabaster, AL

Collins was one of the top all-around prospects to perform at the event. His arm strength stood out both from the infield and behind the plate, as well as on the mound. He was one of the top velocities from the infield at 85 miles per hour, and hit 80 behind the plate while popping a 1.95. On the mound he works through a high tempo delivery creating sharp plane to the fastball and solid feel of the breaking ball.

Cole Evans  C - 2020 - Waynesboro, MS
Mississippi Delta CC

The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder was an all-around solid prospect at the National Academic showcase over the weekend. On the mound, Evans displayed a repeatable delivery with a short and quick arm action creating sharp downhill slope on the fastball at 84 miles per hour. He also showed an athletic ability with quickness to actions behind the plate and a solid contact approach at the plate.

Manuel Jackson  C - 2020 - Coral Gables, FL
Eastern Kentucky

Jackson, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound catcher was solid during workouts behind the plate. He shows flexibility in the lower half with explosive actions out of the stance. Topping out at 76 miles per hour and popping a 1.94, he was among the top at the event. He pairs his defensive ability behind the plate with athleticism running a 6.93 60-yard dash.

Walker Payton  C - 2020 - Suwanee, GA
Berry College

Started the weekend with an impressive showing in workouts. Showed game changing speed posting a 6.81 second sixty-yard dash. During outfield workouts showed the ability to work to and through the ball with athletic actions and smooth transfers into throws with good arm strength topping out at 87 miles per hour from the outfield. Behind the plate showed confident receiving actions with good transfers into throws with good arm strength posting a 1.97 second pop time and topping out at 80 miles per hour from behind the plate.

Jeremiah Peralta  OF - 2020 - St. Cloud, FL
Mercy

Peralta was among the top of all outfielders with a velocity of 87 miles per hour. He has athletic ability in the outfield with good range posting a 6.82 60 time. At the plate he works a heavy pull side, line drive approach.

Christopher Snopek  SS - 2020 - Madison, MS
Harvard

Snopek displayed high end talent in the infield with smooth actions fielding out front with a clean funnel in. He gets rid of the ball quickly staying on top and creating accurate carry to first base with arm strength topping out at 87 miles per hour.

Jaylen Thompson  OF - 2020 - Atlanta, GA

Jaylen Thompson displayed one of the better arms defensively on the weekend. As a primary outfielder he topped out at 87 miles per hour, but also displayed talent defensively as a first baseman as well as an infielder. At the plate Thompson displays strength in the barrel with a power potential moving forward.

Colin Whibbs  MIF - 2020 - Gulf Breeze, FL
Huntington College (Indiana)

Whibbs is an athletic infield/outfielder with clean and repeatable actions. He turned in a 6.73 60-yard dash. In the box he employs simple and repeatable mechanics through a flat path working contact to the middle of the field quite often.


2021 Top Prospects

Alex Fernandes  SS - 2021 - San Marcos, CA
UCLA

The California native showed long athletic actions all over the field starting off by posting a 6.96 second sixty-yard dash. During infield workouts showed confident glove actions with soft hands working into clean transfers. Showed good range to both sides of the infield including a clean backhand. Flashed good arm strength across the infield topping out at 84 miles per hour. At the plate showed a smooth left handed swing working consistently driven line drives to the pull side throughout batting practice.

Kyle Manitz  OF - 2021 - Sarasota, FL
Tallahassee CC

Manitz showed game impacting speed posting a 6.85 second sixty-yard dash during workouts Saturday morning. In the outfield showed aggressive athletic actions and shorter steps working to and through the baseball with confident glove actions. Flashed good arm strength with accurate carry to the bases topping out at 88 miles per hour from the outfield. At the plate showed a high intent swing utilizing a gap to gap approach with the ability to drive the ball to and through the gaps with consistently driven line drives and fly balls.

Shay Timmer  RHP - 2021 - South Jordan, UT

The 6 foot 8 inch righty was impressive on the mound this weekend. Showed an athletic delivery with a shorter arm swing in the back with a long loose arm action getting extended well out front. Flashed the ability to mix three pitches for a strike consistently with a fastball up to 86 miles per hour with arm side run complemented by a 12/6 curveball with good depth and a tumbling change up at 70 miles per hour.

Jace Thomas  LHP - 2021 - Orange Park, FL
Flagler College

Thomas showed his athleticism early in the weekend posting a 7.19 second sixty-yard dash. Followed up his sixty yard dash by showing athletic actions working to and through the baseball with quick transfers into throws with accurate carry to the bases topping out at 79 miles per hour. At the plate showed the ability to repeat his mechanics creating consistent line drives throughout batting practice. On the mound showed athletic mechanics while hiding the ball well creating a lot of deception throughout the delivery. Showed a fastball up to 77 miles per hour and a curveball with good depth at 66 miles per hour.

Was impressive working out at multiple positions starting out in the infield showing the ability to work to and through the ball with bouncy athletic actions. Flashed a long loose arm action with good arm strength and accurate carry across the diamond topping out at 87 miles per hour. Behind the plate showed good arm strength with solid transfers posting a 2.00 second pop time and topping out at 76 miles per hour. At the plate Hardie showed the ability to turn the barrel out front and create loud contact to the pull side when on time an squared.

The strong athletic 2021 grad started the weekend off in workouts posting a 7.17 second sixty yard dash. At the plate Stone showed a high intent swing with a line drive plane through the zone creating good bat speed and consistently driven line drives.
