The recent Vanderbilt commit had a very impressive showing over the course of the weekend. The 6-0/180-pound backstop has a very advanced skill set behind the dish with very fluid actions, extremely quick feet, and good peripherals with a 79 mph arm and a sub-2.00 second pop time. There is a lot of power and strength to Romero Jr.'s offensive profile with present bat speed and pop to the pull side.

Preston Welchel  OF - 2019 - Cartersville, GA
South Alabama/Coastal Alabama CC

A recent South Alabama commit, Welchel put his two-way abilities on display during the showcase and though he was up to 88 mph from the left side, his lefthanded swing was his loudest tool. With very quick hands Welchel was able to impact the baseball consistently, including a long home run in live action to his pull side.

Mykanthony Valdez  3B - 2019 - Davie, FL
Miami

Valdez was his usual loud offensive presence, routinely driving the ball over the outfielder's heads in games and taking a loud batting practice. He's extremely physical and strong, but plays a solid third base as well, where his 88 mph is a loud tool at present as well.

Jonnathdael A Gonzalez Maldonado  OF - 2019 - Guaynabo, PR
Uncommitted

Maldonado showed off two extremely impressive tools, first by showing his plus wheels with a 6.65 seconds 60 yard dash, and then showing off his big time arm in the outfield by getting up to 90 mph. He's very athletic and that athleticism translates to excellent outfield skills overall.

Brandon Smith  RHP - 2019 - Woodstock, GA
Florida Atlantic/Northwest Florida State College

Smith was one of the better all-around talents of this event, as he did everything well. He's a switch-hitter with plenty of bat speed and strength from both sides, and plays an athletic infield with a loud 88 mph arm. He was excellent on the mound, working up to 89 mph with excellent life and control, while mixing in a hard, biting slider.

Erik Rivera  OF - 2019 - Caguas, PR
Florida International

Rivera had one of the strongest showings from the event out of anyone. The Puerto Rican native was up to 91 mph both in the outfield, where he showed off very fluid actions and good carry, and on the mound where he would mix in a tight hammer curveball too. The offensive approach for Rivera is a very power-oriented swing with lots of lift and strength off the barrel.

Florida International

Paulino is another outfielder who showed off excellent arm strength over the course of the event by registering in at 89 mph. Edwin J Sanchez  RHP - 2019 - Gurabo, PR
Uncommitted

Another standout performance by a Puerto Rican native came off the right arm of Sanchez. The up-tempo and fluid delivery was very effective as he is an aggressive pitcher who comes right at hitters. The fastball was up to 87 mph with a smooth and easy arm stroke. Sanchez pounded the strike zone and consistently blew the fastball by hitters and the curveball showed intriguing potential.

Jose Fulgencio  SS - 2019 - Orlando, FL

Fulgencio has a very complete package as far as tools go. He is a sub-7.00 second runner, 6.87 second 60-yard dash, and has very athletic actions and good arm strength, recorded up to 87 mph from the infield. With quick and twitchy hands he gets to the ball very quickly with the bat and gets the barrel head through the zone quickly.

Garrett Danford  3B - 2019 - Chattahoochee, FL
Tennessee-Martin/Enterprise-Ozark CC

Danford looks like he'll be a very good defensive infielder based on his easy athletic actions and good balance with quality footwork to both sides and an accurate arm. He also showed good strength when hitting, with big pullside power when he squares it up.

Florida Southwestern State College

With tons of twitch and physical projection to the 6-4/185-pound frame, Maldonado has one of the highest ceilings of the event. Maldonado recorded a 6.50 second 60-yard dash to go along with an 85 mph arm from the outfield. There is good bat speed to the swing along with a line drive swing plane and feel for getting on top of the ball.

He shows a line drive swing plane when hitting, getting the head out on time and working to all fields with efficiency.

Andrew Pogue  RHP - 2019 - Peoria, IL
Illinois

The uncommitted righthander who made the trek from Illinois had a very strong outing during the course of the event. The 6-4/175-pound arm projects very well with a long and loose arm action. The delivery is very balanced with present arm speed that only adds to the projection. Very good command of the curveball with 11/5 tight shape and also has a very heavy splitter.

Justin Tejeda  OF - 2019 - Kissimmee, FL
Hillsborough CC

With a 6.8 second 60-yard dash and an 89 mph arm from the outfield, Tejeda already shows some loud tools for the uncommitted outfielder. Matthew Treadway  RHP - 2019 - Cincinnati, OH
Eastern Kentucky

The highly projectable Treadway was very good on the mound in this event, showing a quick, clean arm and repeatable delivery that produced a fastball in the 81-85 mph range that he commanded very well.
