2018 Top Prospects

Michael Esposito  LHP - 2018 - Port Washington, NY
South Carolina/Chipola College

Esposito showed some seriously explosive stuff on the mound; working up to 86 mph with lots of angle from an extended three quarters slot, from the left side no less. The fastball has good life to it and he mixes in a quality breaking ball as well.

Anthony Vavaroutsos  OF - 2018 - Toronto, ON CAN
Shippensburg

Vavaroutsos took one of the better BP's of the event, consistently finding the barrel and driving the ball to all fields. He also took a clean round of OF and showed off an 82 mph arm, before getting on the mound and working up to 83 mph with his fastball and showing a good curve as well.

Nicholas Font  C - 2018 - Broad Channel, NY
St. Peter's

Font stood out in several facets over the weekend. He showed interesting hitting tools with good bat speed and some strength; and also good athleticism and overall ability behind the plate when catching. Also pitched and worked up to 84 mph with good sink and a solid slider.

Ryan Bush  RHP - 2018 - Barnegat, NJ
Rowan University

Bush showed off a serious tool in his arm strength, which played both defensively and on the mound. He shows athleticism through his OF actions and has an 84 mph arm; then got on the mound and showed that same quick arm with a fastball up to 83 mph and good offspeed stuff.

PJ Heintz  C - 2018 - Morrisville, NC
UNC-Asheville

Heintz had both the best infield (87 mph) and catcher (82 mph) arms of the event; showing that loud tool both in workouts and in games. He's got good athleticism as well as quality power at the plate, showing good linear jump to the pull field when hitting.

Brandon Foley  OF - 2018 - Pitman, NJ
Uncommitted

Foley has a very projectable frame and quality athleticism; running a 7.01 60 yard dash time and showing off that athleticism in the outfield, where he also showed an 85 mph arm. He also got on the mound and worked up to 82 mph while working in a very good breaking ball.

Christopher Murdock  RHP - 2018 - Flemington, NJ
Union College

Murdock showed well on the mound, working up to 83 mph with his fastball from a smooth, easy delivery highlighted by a clean arm action. He also mixed in a quality combination of a curveball and changeup; all of which he could throw for strikes.

Justin Schaff  C - 2018 - Toms River, NJ
Stockton University

Schaff took a really good round of batting practice; peppering the ball on a firm line mostly through the middle of the field. He also showed well behind the plate, with good athleticism and quick feet; and also got on the mound with a fastball up to 82 mph and good control.

John Roberson  OF - 2018 - Fredericksurg, VA
Paul D. Camp Community College

Roberson's speed and athleticism really took center stage whenever he was on the field. He started the event by clocking an event-best 6.76 seconds 60 yard dash time; then continued to show off that speed in games, creating havoc on the bases and swiping several bags.
