2017 Top Prospects

Tristen Green  RHP - 2017 - Bethlehem, GA
Covenant College/Gordon CC

Green has a slender 6-2/160 build that should continue to get stronger. He worked at 84-86 mph on his fastball from a low effort delivery and a lower arm slot that produced lots of running actions and threw a curveball and change up as his secondary pitches.

2018 Top Prospects

Carson Crowe  RHP - 2018 - Tuscaloosa, AL
Jacksonville State

Crowe is a primary right handed pitcher but didn't throw at this event, although there have been some reports of his being up to 92-93 mph. What the Alabama commit did do is show perhaps the most advanced bat of anyone at the event, marking him as a surefire two-way collegiate player if the reports of his arm strength are correct.

Wade Elliott  3B - 2018 - Edmond, OK
Louisiana Tech/Grayson County College

Elliot was the offensive star of the showcase, blasting two home runs in the games, plus a couple of other extra base hits. He has a deceptively easy swing that is simple yet strong and he showed he could hit them hard and far to all fields.

Tanner Green  OF - 2018 - Loganville, GA
Florence-Darlington Technical College

Green has a very interesting combination of 6.64 speed, speed he used very well on the bases, and strength and bat speed from his big 6-3/205 build. He has plenty of lift and extension in his swing and big potential power. He also threw 88 mph during outfield drills.

Mauro Jimenez  C - 2018 - Marietta, GA
Uncommitted

Jimenez impressed in the catching drills, posting a showcase best 1.91 pop with 78 mph arm strength but really opened eyes with his left handed bat. His highlight was a booming home run that hit an umpire's vehicle beyond the right field fence, not necessarily a wise thing for a catcher to do.

Bowen Bock  P - 2018 - Cumming, GA
Kennesaw State

The 6-4/185 Bock stood out in all tool areas, whether it was his right handed bat speed, his 6.8 speed or his strong arm from both the infield and outfield. Aside from looking like a pitcher physically, Bock also has two-way potential on the mound, with a fastball that topped out at 87 and deep breaking curveball.

Wesley Diamantis  1B - 2018 - Atlanta, GA
Birmingham-Southern College

Diamantis is one strong young man, especially in the lower half, at 6-2/215 and generates big left handed bat speed with some feel for how to hit, too. He showed nice athleticism around the bag at first base, along with a strong arm, and should be an asset on defense.

Garrison Price  OF - 2018 - Oakwood, GA
Uncommitted

Price is an advanced hitter with a short and fast right handed swing that combines barrel control and surprising power. He's also a 6.8 runner with plus instincts who stole bases at will. He fits the profile of the top of the order hitter who plays centerfield.

Sam Kimel  OF - 2018 - Huntsville, AL
Mississippi College

Some players just look like a hitter when they step in the box and that's the best way to describe the left handed hitting Kimel. He's also a quality athlete who ran a 6.65 sixty and had the kind of actions in the outfield that would lead one to believe he'd be a good middle infielder as well.

Griffin Price  2B - 2018 - Oakwood, GA
Uncommitted

Price is not surprisingly very similar to his twin brother, Garrison (above), with perhaps a tick better speed but not quite the arm strength. They both play with the same type of aggressiveness and skill and look like high level performers.

Michael Goehrig  C - 2018 - Suwanee, GA
Western Carolina

Goehrig is very tall for a catcher at 6-4/210 but does an admirable job of keeping all of his actions both defensively and offensively short and direct. He has all the tools to be a solid catcher at the next level.

Evan Condon  RHP - 2018 - Marietta, GA
South Carolina Aiken

Condon has a loose and projectable 6-2/175 build and a 83-86 mph fastball that should tick up as he gets stronger. His out pitch was a 70 mph curveball that he had good feel for and could spot up well in the strike zone.

Collier Scott  3B - 2018 - Gainesville, GA
Uncommitted

Scott is a primary third baseman, with his best tool being his right handed bat, but graded out higher at this event on the mound. He topped out at 87 mph with good heaviness down in the zone from a deceptive delivery and had a solid curveball to go with it.

Jun Choi  C - 2018 - Greenwood Village, CO
Uncommitted

Choi's tool is his bat. He has lots of power in his right handed swing, with a good plane to contact and plenty of juice to hit for extra bases. He wore out the left field fence in batting practice.

Ethan Cornelius  C - 2018 - Atlanta, GA
Wofford

Cornelius has the makings of a very good defensive catcher, with plenty of quickness and athleticism and a strong throwing arm. He's also a left handed hitter, always a plus on a catcher, with a quick line drive swing.

Matthew Mamatas  SS - 2018 - McDonough, GA
Georgia Southwestern State

What Mamatas lacks in size he more than makes up for in quickness, both defensively in the middle of the field and offensively with his quick hands and line drive approach. He plays faster than his 6.72 sixty speed.

Ali LaPread  SS - 2018 - Peachtree Corners, GA
Alabama State/Gordon CC

Lapread has a very athletic 6-1/185 body and plenty of tools to go with it. He ran a 6.71 sixty and showed good arm strength and agility in the field defensively, while also showing a sound contact approach at the plate.

Cameron Wilson  SS - 2018 - Murrayville, GA
Uncommitted

Wilson has all the tools to play shortstop at the next level, including 6.9 speed, plenty of arm strength and sound footwork and fundamentals that result in accurate throws. He has a high average approach at the plate and will keep improving as he gets stronger.

Bryant Wise  RHP - 2018 - Lawrenceville, GA
Emory

Wise doesn't over match hitters with a blazing fastball, topping out at 84 mph, but features two very good secondary pitches in a 73 mph curveball and a cutting 75 mph change up, plus the ability to throw all three pitches for strikes.

Xavier Wilson  2B - 2018 - Lithonia, GA
Wallace CC-Dothan

Wilson is a quick twitch athlete with very good first step quickness that uses well on the bases and a flashing confident style of playing middle infield defense. His best offensive trait is his quick hands and ability to line the ball to all fields.

Dalton Baxley  RHP - 2018 - Enterprise, MS
Pearl River CC

Baxley is a nice two-way prospect and very good athlete. He was up to 84 mph with his fastball and showed very good feel for spinning the ball, along with having a deceptive delivery. He's also a 6.82 runner and a versatile defensive player.

Dayton Brune  3B - 2018 - Greenville, SC
Spartanburg Methodist College

Brune is a well rounded athlete, with some present strength and solid run, throw and hit tools. He also showed some ability on the mound.

2019 Top Prospects

CJ Neese  SS - 2019 - Greensboro, NC
High Point

The 6-3/175 Neese is a two-way prospect and was the top pitching prospect who threw at the event, topping out at 89 mph with an out pitch slider and plenty of physical projection. He still graded out as a better position prospect, with outstanding tools and skills at shortstop and a strong right handed swing.

Justin Looney  C - 2019 - Columbia, MD
Longwood

Looney stood out in all areas athletically. He ran a 6.82 sixty, threw 81 and popped a 1.9 in drills, had a strong batting practice and then crushed the ball in games, posting multiple extra base hits. He'll be a nice player to follow closely over the next few years.

Gage Vailes  RHP - 2019 - Marietta, GA
Texas Wesleyan University/Georgia Highlands

Vailes had a very strong outing on the mound, throwing 86-88 mph from a high 3/4's arm slot with hard boring action at times and sharp cut at others. His curveball has the makings of a future plus pitch, with hard spin and plenty of depth.

Sam Darling  OF - 2019 - Winder, GA
Shorter University

Darling posted one of the top sixty times at 6.60, then came right back and graded out the highest in the outfield drills, including throwing 89 mph. That's a good way to start a showcase. He has a quick right handed swing and a high average approach at the plate.

Zane Denton  3B - 2019 - Brentwood, TN
Tennessee

Denton is another player who hit especially well in games. He notably is a legit switch-hitter with bat speed and a sound approach from both sides, although he seems to have a bit more bat speed left handed.

Ben Kailher  SS - 2019 - Rumford, RI
Penn State

It would not surprise us if Kailher is one of the best players in his native Rhode Island over the next two years. He not only has very good running speed, bat speed and the ability to play the middle infield on defense, he's also a hard nosed player with a big motor.

Jackson Sherrill  1B - 2019 - Franklin, TN
Northeast Texas CC

Sherrill changed his approach from BP to the games and what resulted was an outstanding short, strong and well timed swing. He laced line drives all over the field and showed some big time power potential.

Bradley Blalock  RHP - 2019 - Lawrenceville, GA
Kennesaw State

Blalock stood out defensively with his 6.80 speed, his very strong throwing arm and his ability to play all over the field with tools and skill. He showed potential with the bat, especially in games, and also threw up to 86 mph off the mound.

Kyle Riesselmann  OF - 2019 - Tyrone, GA
Western Carolina

Riesselmann has a long and very projectable build and a very fast and whippy right handed swing that promises well above average power as he fills out physically and makes some simplifications in his approach at the plate.

Preston Welchel  OF - 2019 - Cartersville, GA
South Alabama/Coastal Alabama CC

Welchel pretty much did a bit of everything over the weekend, running a 6.75, showing lots of athleticism at both first base and in the outfield and throwing up to 86 with a four-pitch mix on the mound.

Noah Webb  C - 2019 - Kodak, TN
Uncommitted

Webb was the top defensive catcher at the event, with very good quickness and a strong arm behind the plate. He also looked good on the mound, throwing in the mid-80's with heavy sinking life and fooling hitters with a big and sharp 73 mph curveball.

Tyler Causey  SS - 2019 - Fort Mill, SC
North Carolina

Causey is listed at 6-5, 180 and even if he doesn't look quite that tall, he might be soon. He stands out for his extremely smooth left handed bat and his ability to square up the ball to all fields. Wait until the strength kicks in and his bat speed jumps forward.

Omar Daniels  SS - 2019 - Lawrenceville, GA
Dayton/Georgia Highlands

Daniels ran a 6.64 and really showed his athleticism on defense, where he has smooth and quick actions in the middle infield and can make plays in the game. His offensive approach is very sound and it's just a matter of getting stronger for him.

Bret Adkins  C - 2019 - Hiram, GA
Charleston (West Virginia)

Adkins has the tools and athleticism to develop either as a catcher or as a strong armed outfielder in the future. He flashed good right handed bat speed when he got the barrel turned and aggressively pulled the ball.

Griffin Adkins  OF - 2019 - Barboursville, WV
Charleston (West Virginia)

Adkins tool is his speed; he ran a 6.57 sixty and has instant acceleration on the bases. A right handed hitter, Adkins has good contact skills and will improve offensively as he gets stronger. He also has a strong outfield throwing arm.

Asher Spivey  C - 2019 - Atlanta, GA
Uncommitted

Spivey is one very strong young man at 5-11/205 and uses that strength well in a short and quick right handed swing that works the entire field. He has the tools to either end up behind the plate or in the outfield on defense.

Jorden Nathaniel  SS - 2019 - Dacula, GA
Abraham Baldwin College

Nathaniel made the defensive play of the event with a sliding grab up the middle, spin and strong accurate throw to first base for an out. He looks like he could develop very well in the middle infield with additional strength.

Caden McClure  RHP - 2019 - Bixby, OK
Amherst College

McClure attacked hitters aggressively with an 81-84 mph fastball that he spotted well all over the strike zone. His best pitch was a very nice change up that had very good deception. Improvement in his curveball will be the next step.

Isaiah Fleming  OF - 2019 - Loganville, GA
Kentucky

Fleming looks younger than a 2018 athlete, with a young look and a very projectable 6-0/170 build. He's a 6.58 runner and if he's able to get stronger, he has a very sound and balanced right handed swing that should blossom with a bit more raw bat speed.

Michael McClanahan  OF - 2019 - Papillion, NE
Uncommitted

McClanahan came down from Nebraska and showed a nice combination of tools, including 6.74 speed, a nice throwing arm from the outfield and a strong right handed swing that will produce plenty of extra base hits.

Allen Grier  OF - 2019 - Atlanta, GA
Chattanooga State Technical CC

Grier might be the smallest athlete on this TP list at 5-8/145 but he has a very interesting set of tools, including 6.59 speed and a very strong left arm that worked at multiple positions and on the mound. Some more strength will open up his right handed swing.

Kevin Kilpatrick  OF - 2019 - Stockbridge, GA
College of Central Florida

Kilpatrick is 5-11/165 at present but he might end up being a long and tall athlete with time. He runs a 6.67 and uses his speed well on the bases. He also plays both infield and outfield with athletic fluidity and a strong arm.

Tyler Williams  OF - 2019 - Stone Mountain, GA
University of Arkansas-Little Rock

Williams has lots of growing to do and plenty of baseball repetitions in front of him but he has a very long and athletic 6-2/160 build, 6.68 speed and a strong and loose arm that might eventually fit on the mound depending on how his bat develops.

Miles Wilkins  LHP - 2019 - Lawrenceville, GA
East Georgia College

Wilkins doesn't have the strength yet to post impressive measurables but he is very athletic, playing multiple positions well, including left handed catcher, running a 6.96 and throwing a ton of quality strikes from multiple arm angles on the mound.

2020 Top Prospects

Trippe Moore  OF - 2020 - Forsyth, GA
Georgia/Georgia Highlands

Moore is listed as a primary pitcher but could just as well be an infielder or outfielder as well. He pretty much does everything well on the field and shows his athleticism in all actions. We would expect him to be playing all over the field throughout at least his high school career.

Shawn Brown  SS - 2020 - Baxley, GA
Augusta University

Brown has a good a set of hitting fundamentals as you are going to see on a young hitter, with a simple and direct approach that leads to very consistent line drive contact. He should be a very high average hitter as he gets stronger.

Colin Koprowski  RHP - 2020 - Canton, GA
Columbus State

Koprowski swung the bat well in BP but really impacted the ball hard in games, showing both power and barrel control. He has a strong arm for his age that will play well at third base and he was also up to 84 with a good slider on the mound.

Colby Masters  RHP - 2020 - Augusta, GA
Wallace State CC-Hanceville

Masters was very aggressive attacking hitters with a fastball that reached 85 mph from a high 3/4's arm slot that created lots of angle to the plate. His curveball had big downer shape to it and has the makings of a solid second pitch.

Hayden Stapleton  3B - 2020 - Greenville, SC
Uncommitted

Stapleton may have already outgrown shortstop, as the freshman is already 6-2/190 but his arm strength and agility should be fine for third base. His best tool is his right handed bat and power potential.

Landon Lewis  RHP - 2020 - Chattanooga, TN
Walters State CC

Lewis stands out for his long and athletic 6-5/180 build and that length gives him big leverage at the plate. He is a very intriguing right handed power hitting prospect who could start really losing balls as he fills out and gets strong.

Caleb Marmo  OF - 2020 - Johnson City, TN
Wake Forest

Marmo is a twitchy athlete who already runs a 6.76 and is going to be a easy plus to plus/plus runner as he physically matures. His biggest challenge will be adjusting his approach from both sides of the plate to become more directional to contact.

2021 Top Prospects

Harry Ford  C - 2021 - Kennesaw, GA
Georgia Tech

Ford has very quick hands at the plate and really impacted the ball hard for a 150 pounder coming out of the 8th grade. he showed the same type of quickness defensively behind the plate and in the infield, along with a strong arm.

Luke Hasty  C - 2021 - Phenix City, AL
Columbus State/Central Alabama CC

Hasty has very good bat speed for his age, along with already having an idea how to hit the ball to all fields with good balance and plate awareness. He also has good athletic quickness and an early grasp of footwork behind the plate.

Max Beck Berendsen  OF - 2021 - Marietta, GA
IMG Academy

Berendsen is a live bodied young athlete who along with his athleticism also showed a pretty advanced feel for the game for his age.

Tyler Hare  OF - 2021 - Atlanta, GA
Wofford

Hare has a projectable 6-0/175 frame and a loose left handed swing that will keep improving. He also showed a very advanced feel for the game for his age, especially in some adjustments he made on the mound when pitching.

2022 Top Prospects

Breon Horne  OF - 2022 - College Park, GA
Miami-Dade College

Horne is very young and raw in most of his skills but you can see tons of athleticism in his 6-2/165 body, starting with 6.76 speed and a loose, whippy arm. If he can get plenty of repetitions over the next few years he could blossom.
