2020 Top Prospects

John Marant  OF - 2020 - Tyrone, GA
Georgia Tech

Marant has an outstanding combination of size and athleticism, and he looks the part of a high level right field prospect. He's got outstanding power at the plate and projects for even more while moving very well for his size and showing off a loud arm tool as well.

Reid Fagerstrom  RHP - 2020 - Sharpsburg, GA

Fagerstrom is no stranger to PG events and continues to impress on the mound, as he ran his fastball up to 88 mph and mixed in a power slider to dominate over the course of his outing. He pitches with intent and throws a lot of strikes with two powerful, bat-missing pitches.

Trevor Kilinski  3B - 2020 - Miami, FL

Kilinski's physicality and strength show up on the baseball diamond in several ways. He's a solid athlete who looks like a good fit at third base with quality arm strength, clocked up to 87 mph, and he also has legitimate power at the plate, especially to the opposite field where he peppered the wall during batting practice.

Mason Maners  OF - 2020 - Vestavia Hills, AL
Jacksonville State

Maners started off his event hot, running a blistering 6.64 second 60 yard dash. He continued his loud showing in batting practice, where he consistently got the barrel out and drove the baseball into the pull side gap, projecting well for additional power as well.

Choyce Diffey  RHP - 2020 - Sallis, MS

Diffey stands out first and foremost for his arm speed, which generated good workout velos but is at home on the mound. He worked an exploding fastball up to 88 mph early on and has continued projection, also mixing in a slider and a changeup.

Ben Koch  RHP - 2020 - Norcross, GA
Augusta University

Koch has pretty legitimate upside on the mound and showed why in this event, with a loose, whippy arm stroke that produced fastballs up to 85 mph and a sharp, late-breaking curveball. His body and arm speed both project well and the upside is very good.

Logan Byerly  OF - 2020 - Tyrone, GA

Byerly showed off two really loud tools to start in his speed, where he ran a 6.76 second 60 yard dash, and his arm strength, where he threw 90 mph from the outfield. The speed, athleticism, and arm strength all play, and he shows some contact skills at the plate as well.

William Haberstock  RHP - 2020 - Roswell, GA
North Alabama

Haberstock's tools and athleticism stand out immediately, as he's a good runner (6.93 60), has a very good arm from the outfield (89 mph), and has the frame/athleticism that scouts like to see. He also gets on the mound and can work into the mid-80's with a good breaking ball, giving him legitimate upside.

Collin Babin  RHP - 2020 - Ponchatoula, LA

Babin showed intriguing upside on the mound, with a long/lean and projectable frame and loose arm. He ran his fastball up to 84 mph, creating good plane to the plate while also showing the ability to spin a solid curveball and throw both pitches for strikes.

Landon Headrick  LHP - 2020 - Greenbrier, AR
Henderson State

Headrick's size at 6-foot-9 automatically stands out, but he was also impressive on the mound, where he showed very good pitchability and command. He ran his fastball up to 82 mph to both sides of the plate to go along with a solid curveball he landed for strikes.

Parker Madden  C - 2020 - Ruston, LA

Madden's arm strength is his carrying tool, and it allows him to be impactful both defensively and on the mound. A primary catcher, Madden's defensive skills look solid, and his arm is a weapon of a tool from back there; he's also up to 84 on the mound with the makings of a good curveball.

Wesley Mitchell  3B - 2020 - Katy, TX
Galveston College

Mitchell took a very good round of BP, showing quality bat speed and hands in the swing as he drove the ball up the gap consistently. He also showed solid infield actions that project well at third base, including an 84 mph arm across the diamond.

Drew Wilson  RHP - 2020 - Pell City, AL

Wilson's strength stands out when hitting, as he's able to drive low liners into the outfield to all fields with good jump off the barrel; and he also has legitimate arm strength that shows up both at 1st base (85 mph) and on the mound, where he worked up to 84 mph with his fastball.

2021 Top Prospects

Braden Montgomery  OF - 2021 - Madison, MS

Montgomery was one of the standouts of the event, starting out by throwing 92 mph from the outfield and looking very athletic in the process, then taking an extremely loud batting practice from both sides of the plate and continuing that in game, consistently driving the ball.

Sean Smith  1B - 2021 - Pascagoula, MS

Smith was definitely one of the best hitters in attendance, as he consistently found the barrel and drove the ball during batting practice, but more importantly also did so during games, smoking both a home run and a triple on back-to-back days.

Seth Carter  RHP - 2021 - Ocean Springs, MS

Seth Carter was another 2021 righthander who reached 88 mph with his fastball. Carter drives well down the mound with his lower half and has a loose arm action as well. He throws with intent and blew his fastball by hitters when in the strike zone while featuring a curveball that flashed late biting action.

Tyson Luna  OF - 2021 - Houston, TX

Luna was very good all-around in this event, showing very good athleticism in the outfield along with an 84 mph throwing arm, taking a good BP with loose hands and very projectable power, and getting on the mound and working up to 84 mph from the left side with a solid slider as well.

Connor Westfall  1B - 2021 - Brandon, MS

Westfall's calling card tool is his raw power, which he put on display in batting practice frequently. He gets his lower half involved and can really drive the ball, showing the ability to get it into the air with excellent jump and carry, and he made the field look small at times.

James Yeager  OF - 2021 - D'Iberville, MS

Yeager had a really good overall event, running a 6.82 second 60 yard dash, showing arm strength from both the OF (82 mph) and IF (83 mph), taking a very good round of batting practice with projection both in terms of hit and power, and also showing upside on the mound.

Caden Barnett  RHP - 2021 - Cullman, AL

Barnett's arm speed and athleticism on the mound stand out right away, and he's very physically projectable as well. He repeats his delivery well already and worked his fastball up to 85 mph with very good life, mixing in a solid slider as well.

Parker Willingham  RHP - 2021 - Tuscumbia, AL

A physical righthanded pitcher on the mound, Willingham's fastball sat in the mid- to upper-80s while topping out at 88 mph. His fastball is heavy and his build is durable. The arm action is long through the back, but the righthander from northern Alabama is certainly worth noting as he is still just a sophomore in high school.

Jacob Cabeceiras  SS - 2021 - Metairie, LA

Cabeceiras really stood out offensively in this event, during both batting practice and in games. He rotates really well and stays balanced throughout, bringing the barrel around on time and with authority, consistently squaring the ball up and using the whole field when doing so.

Hayden Graves  C - 2021 - McCool, MS

Graves immediately stood out for running well, posting a 6.93 seconds 60 yard dash time, then showed that athleticism in outfield drills while also throwing 83 mph. He's also a quality defensive catcher with twitch and arm strength at his disposal.

Clayton Hodges  OF - 2021 - Jacksonville, FL

Hodges has a nice mix of athleticism and tools that serve him well as an outfielder. He's a solid runner (6.89 60 yard dash) whose speed plays nicely in the outfield, as does his arm, which was clocked up to 85 mph. He also flashed some intriguing pull side pop during BP.

Michael Hopkinson  SS - 2021 - Mobile, AL

Hopkinson took one of the better rounds of BP of the entire event, showing an easy, repeatable swing featuring good bat speed, plate coverage, and the beginnings of strength. He consistently hit the ball up front and found barrel, driving it up the gaps and projecting well for power.

Alex Johnson  C - 2021 - Montgomery, AL

Johnson's loud arm strength was put on display in several ways in this event. He threw 80 mph from behind the plate during catcher drills, 89 mph from the outfield during those workouts, and also ran his fastball up to 84 mph with significant life when on the mound.

Brody Moss  2B - 2021 - Helena, AL

Moss did everything well in this event, clocking in a 6.82 seconds 60 yard dash time, taking a quality infield workout and throwing 81 mph across the diamond, and showing good contact skills at the plate with a loose swing that works to all fields on a line.

Chase Valentine  SS - 2021 - Phoenix, AZ

The best infield actions from the weekend came from Chase Valentine who made the trip from Arizona to Alabama. The projectable 5-foot-10 shortstop showed elite hands while also displaying nimble footwork playing the baseball.

2022 Top Prospects

Cole Burton  OF - 2022 - Canton, MS

Burton had a really nice all-around event, running well (6.95 60 yard dash), throwing well from multiple spots (87 mph IF, 84 mph OF), showing good contact skills at the plate, and then getting on the mound and running his FB up to 84 mph with flashes of a good curve.

Kent Carlisle  SS - 2022 - Fort Smith, AR

Carlisle had a very good event as one of the top '22's in attendance, showing quality athleticism in the middle infield along with excellent arm strength (85 mph). He shows good contact skills at the plate, and also got on the mound and worked up to 82 mph with good curveball as well.

Alex Wade  OF - 2022 - Decatur, AL

Wade's combination of athleticism, tools, and projection are intriguing. He ran well in the 60 yard dash (6.97 seconds), took a very nice outfield round highlighted by an 85 mph arm, swung it well in BP with loose hands and a whippy barrel, and also showed some promise on the mound.
