2023 Top Prospects

Conner Bennett  C - 2023 - Spring, TX
University of Houston

Bennett might only be listed at 5-7/140 but he's able to create as much bat speed as any player this weekend, showing loose wrists and quick hands. He handles the barrel nicely and produced a sub-2 pop time behind the plate thanks to a quick transfer and release on his throws.

Blake Brown  2B - 2023 - Montgomery, TX
Sam Houston State

Brown's actions at shortstop stood out throughout the weekend, showing smooth lateral range and clean skills with the glove, including to the backhand with accurate throws across. He also shows skill with the bat, staying direct with his hands and projects well as he continues to refine his mechanics.

Cameran Christ  C - 2023 - Lake Charles, LA
Uncommitted

Christ is already committed to Mississippi State and his talent was on display throughout the weekend in Tomball. A lefthanded hitter, Christ showed some of the better bat speed in attendance and was able to square up the ball, though his flexibility and looseness behind the plate in live action were just as impressive.

John Calvin Davis  SS - 2023 - Argyle, TX
Uncommitted

Davis's actions in the infield throughout the weekend, both in drills and live actions, were some of the best showing solid footwork, soft hands, and a quick internal clock while making all the plays. While he projects physically for additional strength, he shows a handle for the barrel and recognized spin in game.

Elliott Foreman  C - 2023 - Diana, TX
Uncommitted

Foreman proved to be one of the more well rounded prospects in attendance, showing well from where he played on the diamond. A primary catcher, he showed a clean release and solid arm strength from both the mound (up to 83 mph) and first base (81 mph) while creating extension out front with his swing and nice present jump with backspin to his pull side.

Landon Graves  OF - 2023 - Monroe, LA
Uncommitted

Graves ranked amongst the best in both the 60-yard dash and outfield velocity during the drills portion of the event, running a 6.90 and throwing 81 mph. A righthanded hitter, Graves showed quickness to his hands and a good angle through the ball with projectable pop off the barrel when squared.

Zane Kelly  OF - 2023 - Las Vegas, NV
San Diego State

Kelly is listed as a primary lefthanded pitcher but he showed well with the bat as well, showing solid two-way potential moving forward. On the bump he was up to 80 mph with a loose arm and a feel for his curveball and offensively he showed a natural feel for the barrel with whip to the ball while making consistent contact.

Tripp Landers  C - 2023 - Clinton, AR
Florida Southwestern State College

While there's plenty of physical projection with Landers, his lefthanded swing already stands out showing strength to his hands and the ability to turn on the ball with leverage when on time. Both from the infield and behind the plate he gets low and stays compact with his actions, showing sound mechanics and carry on his throws.

Dillon Lester  C - 2023 - Baytown, TX
Baylor

A switch-hitter with skills from both sides, Lester's righthanded swing is especially interesting with quick hands and plenty of balance, showing present carry off the barrel. He ran a 7.09 60-yard dash and showed a quick transfer in the infield with good carry on throws and athleticism to his actions behind the plate.

Samson Pugh  SS - 2023 - Montgomery, TX
Texas State

Pugh showed some of the better athleticism in the outfield throughout the event, moving well on his feet while repeating his release with present carry on his throws. He stays short to the ball with his swing and is able to create lift at the point of contact, flashing jump which will only continue to improve as he grows stronger.

Dominick Rush  OF - 2023 - Las Vegas, NV
Uncommitted

Rush did a little bit of everything throughout the weekend from showing one of the better arms in the outfield (threw a runner out in game at second) and filled the zone on the mound. Along with his arm strength he displayed a handle for the barrel, working to all fields with line drive contact when extended out front.
