2022 Top Prospects

Tate Jacobsen  SS - 2022 - Shawnee, KS
Uncommitted

Jacobsen showed nice tools all over the diamond throughout the weekend, especially up the middle at his primary position of shortstop. He made all the plays look routine with plenty of arm strength across -was also up to 80 mph on the mound- and swung it well from the left side with quick hands and barrel skills.

Israel Delgado  C - 2022 - Orland Park, IL
Missouri

One of the stronger players in attendance at 5-foot-9, 168-pounds, Delgado did a nice job of incorporating that physical strength into all aspects of his game. He generated nice bat speed from the right side and was able to impact the ball while showing lots of carry to his throws and whip to his arm action across the diamond.

Ethan Patera  RHP - 2022 - Downers Grove, IL
Louisville

Looking longer than his listed 6-foot-2 frame, Patera stood out both for his size as well as his stuff on the mound. With a quick arm the young righthander ramped his fastball up to a showcase best 83 mph with angle and plane while also flashing a short, tight slider up to 71 mph with which he used to miss bats.

Gavin Kilen  SS - 2022 - Milton, WI
Louisville

A loose and projectable lefthanded hitting middle infielder, Kilen may not have been the most physical player in attendance but he showed as much skill as any. He consistently found the barrel in live action as he sprayed base knocks around the field and showed nice actions with the glove up the middle while bumping 79 mph with his fastball.

Jack Scheri  SS - 2022 - Peru, IL
Creighton

Scheri is a well-built and pretty physical athlete 5-foot-10, 165-pounds and shows nice quickness with his speed as he posted the best 60-yard time at 7.14 seconds. He's more than just speed however as he found the barrel consistently in game with hard jump off the barrel to all parts of the field with extnesion out front.

Alex Stanwich  OF - 2022 - Tinley Park, IL
Tennessee

Though listed as a primary pitcher, where he impressed up to 80 mph with a loose arm and filled the strike zone while spinning it well, he also showed well as a position player. He swung it well from the right side of the plate with a short stroke and found the barrel well in live actions with a couple of doubles.

Michael Ascencio  3B - 2022 - Joliet, IL
Uncommitted

Ascencio put an exclamation point on his weekend showing with the lone home run of the event (batting practice or live action) with a high shot to left field in Sunday's action. He projects well as he continues to refine his mechanics at the plate while already showing looseness to his hands.

Quentin Keene  OF - 2022 - Waunakee, WI
Uncommitted

A righthanded hitter, Keene showed intriguing skills with the bat during his time in the box while utilizing a gap-to-gap approach. When on time and squared he created nice line drive contact with backspin coming off the barrel and nice physical projection moving forward.

Keegan Knutson  3B - 2022 - Janesville, WI
San Jacinto CC

Another prospect who made the trip from Wisconsin, Knutson showed tools all over the diamond that should continue to project moving forward. He shows looseness to his swing and a feel for the barrel from the right side along with some arm strength from multiple positions including 80 mph from the outfield.

2023 Top Prospects

Zack Labrec  SS - 2023 - Fox River Grove, IL
Uncommitted

The lone 2023 in the event, Labrec may not be listed as a primary pitcher but he impressed during his time on the rubber. He works from a 3/4 slot and showed the ability to get his fastball to either side of the plate while topping out at 78 mph and spinning a tight and short 11-5 shaped curveball up to 69 mph.
