2009 Top Prospects

Ricky Kleban  OF - 2009 - Marietta, GA
Columbia

A top-notch athlete, Ricky has all the tools you look for in an outfielder. He is a well above average runner (6.79) with a strong arm (88 OF) and has plenty of tools to work with at the plate. Ricky also touched 88 on the mound and projects as a highest-level two-way prospect in college.

Luis Arrizurieta  C - 2009 - Pembroke Pines, FL

Defensively, Luis has to be considered one of the top catching prospects in the country, where he has a very quick release and strong arm. He consistently popped under 1.85 and shows the tools to be a solid hitter at the next level.

Ryan Gawrych  OF - 2009 - Tampa, FL
Saint Leo

Ryan started the event strong posting the best sixty-time of 6.73. He has an advanced hitting approach where he shows quick hands and stays inside the ball well.

Frank DeSico  IF - 2009 - Willoughby, OH
Notre Dame

Frank stuck out early in the workouts, showing off the strongest IF arm (88 IF), while running a 6.99 sixty. He has a short simple swing that produces good bat speed and should become a highest-level college prospect.

Matt Plate  RHP - 2009 - Alpharetta, GA
Furman

Matt was one of the most projectable pitchers at the event, touching 88 with his fastball with good life. He showed feel for a solid change-up and has the build to add more velocity in the future.

Walker Rackley  OF - 2009 - Asheville, NC

A very good looking hitting prospect, Walker has a very sound hitting approach from the left side with big offensive upside. He stays inside the ball well and projects to hit for a good amount of power in the future.

Patrick Blizzard  RHP - 2009 - Houston, TX

A talented two-way prospect, Patrick has the tools to project well in the infield and on the mound. On the mound Patrick has good upside where touched 85 with his fastball and showed off a tight 12-6 curveball. He is a good all-around athlete, running a 6.87 sixty and shows the tools to hit at the highest level.

Trevor Berry  LHP - 2010 - Oviedo, FL
University of Central Florida

A polished 2010 left-hander, Trevor topped out at 85 with his fastball and already shows an advanced feel for pitching. Trevor has a clean delivery with good deception and commands all of his pitches well.

Will Allen  C - 2010 - Gainesville, FL
Mississippi

A 2010 prospect, Will has the raw tools to become a solid catching prospect with big offensive upside. He has a very strong arm behind the plate and has outstanding bat speed and raw power potential at the plate.

Kevin Lindheim  RHP - 2010 - Naples, FL
Stetson

A 2010 outfield prospect, Kevin got off to a strong start showing off a very strong arm in the outfield (91 OF), while running a respectable 7.18 sixty. At the plate, Kevin shows good pop to the opposite field and projects to hit for power in the future.
