2008 Top Prospects

Tommy Winegardner  SS - 2008 - St. Leonard, MD   Coastal Carolina

One of the top players and athletes in the country. Has 5 legitimate tools. Threw 90 across the infield, ran a 6.87 60, hit for average and power, and was very smooth at short. Showed his arm strength on the mound as well (89 fastball).

Ryan Harris  OF - 2008 - Clinton, MD   Uncommitted

Another two way stud who has very solid tools across the board. Threw 86 from the outfield with carry and ran a 6.96 60. He has big time power potential and drives the ball with authority. On the mound showed an 87 mph fastball that cuts.

Cody Bentley  SS - 2008 - Pound, VA   East Tenn State

Very smooth arm action with lots of potential. Mid 80’s fastball and attacks hitters. Threw 88 from the outfield and 85 across the infield. Good speed (7.01 60) and also swings the bat very well.

Bobby Schwier  RHP - 2008 - Woodbridge, VA   Uncommitted

Throws from over the top which gives him a nasty 12/6 curveball that he throws for strikes. Throws in the low to mid 80’s with his fastball which has late run on it. Very aggressive player who also hits for power and is very smooth in the field.

Good athletic frame with strength. Very solid bat with plus power for a catcher. Good catch and throw guy with a quick release and accurate throws. Consistent pop times under 2.00.

Levi Hyams  3B - 2008 - Stafford, VA   Georgia

Levi is a solid athlete who runs very well (6.80 60) and has a strong arm (83 across the infield). He has smooth hands and makes all the routine plays. He handles the bat very well also.

Very athletic with a strong accurate arm (85 from the outfield). He runs very well (7.00 60) and likes to drive the ball to the gaps. Very solid on the mound with good run.

Compact delivery with a very quick arm. Threw mid 80’s from the mound with a fastball with good sink. His slider is a plus pitch for him as well with tight late break.

Tyler has a tall projectable body with a loose arm. Fastball in the mid 80’s with a devastating curveball that hitters can’t pick up very well. He knows how to pitch and will continue to gain velocity.

Tall lean projectable body with a very compact body. Good arm side run on his low 80’s fastball. His slider is tight and hard and he throws it for strikes. Very high ceiling.

2009 Top Prospects

Eric Buckland  RHP - 2009 - Middletown, DE   Delaware

Great pitcher’s body who has a very high ceiling. Fastball topped out at 88 after throwing from the outfield during the workout. He has much more in his loose arm.

Charlie Haslup  RHP - 2009 - Easton, MD   Maryland

Tall lanky body with a very loose arm. Low to mid 80’s fastball with late sink that bores in on right handed hitters. Very confident on the mound with good mound presence. Centers the ball well at the plate and drives the ball to all fields.

Ryan Burgess  OF - 2009 - Richmond, VA   Radford

Ryan is a very athletic kid with a high ceiling. He is a left handed hitter who likes the ball in and drives the ball with authority. He is very smooth in the field with solid arm strength and he makes accurate throws.

Shane Matthews  OF - 2009 - Ballston Spa, NY   Marist

Very good actions in the field with a strong accurate arm (80 from the outfield). Matthews has power potential and drives the ball to all fields. He uses his speed well in the field and on the bases.

Garrett Marin  MIF - 2009 - Fredericksburg, VA   George Mason

Solid athlete who can play multiple positions. Shows a strong arm (85 from the outfield and 84 across the infield) who runs well also (7.06 60). Very solid on the mound as well throwing in the low 80’s.

Brandon Crigger  LHP - 2009 - Saint Leonard, MD   Radford

Low 3/4 arm slot which creates lots of sink on his low 80’s fastball. Tight hard slider in the mid 70’s. He is very tough on left handed hitters and likes to throw inside.

Robert Orlan  LHP - 2009 - Glen Allen, VA   North Carolina

Low 80’s fastball with late sink and run makes it very tough on left handed hitters. He is very balanced and smooth which allows him to keep the ball down in the zone.

Taylor Sandefur  RHP - 2009 - Mechanicsville, VA   Uncommitted

Taylor continues to improve his body and is now a strong looking athlete. His fastball sits in the low 80’s with late run. He has very good mound presence and knows how to pitch.

Jeff Griffith  RHP - 2009 - Glen Allen, VA   George Washington

Jeff knows how to pitch and throws strikes in and out with a low 80’s fastball. He has good tilt on his curveball and throws it for strikes. Very solid in the field with a nice quick bat.

2010 Top Prospects

Corey Patrick  OF - 2010 - Yorktown, VA   Hillsborough CC

A very good athlete who didn’t pitch in this event. He showed his other skills by running a 6.92 60 and throwing 84 from the outfield. He is a line drive hitter who has very good bat speed.
