2016 Top Prospects

Ben Norman  - OF - 2016 - Des Moines, IA - USA
The 6-foot-2, 165-pound Norman has a sweet left handed swing that is going to something to watch when he gets stronger. He's also a very good athlete who ran a 6.91 sixty.

Nolan (Nonie) Williams  - SS - 2016 - Kansas City, KS - USA
Williams has all the tools to develop into high level national prospect and draft choice. He ran a 6.56 sixty, threw 90 mph across the infield and showed lots of present bat speed and offensive potential. That's impressive stuff for a young man just starting his sophomore season.

Parker Upton  - SS - 2016 - Grand Island, NE - USA
Sorry, no relation with the MLB Upton's but the Nebraska native has tools and a bright future of his own. He has a strong swing from both sides of the plate and looks to have the speed and athleticism to stay in the middle of the field.

Brett Vosik  - 3B - 2016 - Omaha, NE - USA
Vosik is a big 6-foot-4, 200-pound left handed hitter with an impressive collection of tools on both sides of the ball. He ran 6.97, threw 90 mph from the outfield and 89 mph from the infield and 86 mph from the mound along with showing lots of bat speed at the plate.

Keaton Winn  - RHP - 2016 - Ollie, IA - USA
Winn has a very projectable 6-foot-4, 190-pound build and very advanced pitching mechanics. He throw consistently in the 84-86 mph range with a nice curveball that he threw for strikes.

Ryan Knernschield  - C - 2016 - St. Louis, MO - USA
Knernschield stood out for his cannon behind the plate but had more tools than just a plus arm. He received and blocked well behind the plate and showed good potential with his right handed swing.

Cole Johnson  - C - 2016 - Omaha, NE - USA
Johnson has always been a top level defensive receiver and his offensive game showed significant improvement this weekend, with added strength and gap power.

Trey Cowley  - SS - 2016 - Urbandale, IA - USA
Crowley got everyone's attention when he blasted a long BP home run on a day when the ball wasn't leaving Memorial Stadium very often. He has a nice all around set of tools to compliment his right handed bat speed.

Alec Rickabaugh  - RHP - 2016 - West Des Moines, IA - USA
Rickabaugh gets your attention with his tall and slender 6-foot-5, 170-pound build. He topped out at 84 mph from a deceptive cross body delivery and there is lots more velocity there with more strength. He also showed nice hitting ability both in BP and in games.

Aaron Meers  - OF - 2016 - Kansas City, MO - USA
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Meers is very strong for his age and that strength translates very well into his high handed swing. The ball jumps hard off his bat.

Brody Gugat  - RHP - 2016 - Sioux City, IA - USA
Gugat has a big and strong 6-foot-3, 205-pound build that he uses to power downhill with a 85 mph fastball and a sharp breaking downer curveball.

Braydon Cook  - RHP - 2016 - O'Fallon, MO - USA
Cook has a fast and loose arm that produced a fastball that topped out at 84 mph. His curveball has really improved since we saw him last and has lots of power in the low 70's.

Peter Zimmermann  - 3B - 2016 - St. Louis, MO - USA
Zimmerman showed a very advanced right handed swing both in batting practice and in the games. He looks like a future middle of the order run producer.

Benjamin Sems  - SS - 2016 - Chesterfield, MO - USA
Sems showed very soft hands and natural middle infield actions on defense to go with a projectable left handed bat and swing.

Tyler Clark  - RHP - 2016 - Lee's Summit, MO - USA
Clark has an athletic 6-foot-3, 185-pound build and a range of two-way tools to develop, including a strong right handed swing and an 83 mph fastball on the mound.

Noah Brocato  - 3B - 2016 - Labadie, MO - USA
Brocato is a well rounded talent with good two-way potential. He was up to 83 mph on the mound with a loose arm and also had a loose right handed swing with good bat speed and plenty of lift.

Spencer Wiskus  - C - 2016 - Coralville, IA - USA
Wiskus is a strong 6-foot-1, 190-pound catcher whose offensive game is ahead of his defense at the moment, which isn't a bad thing because his swing is really advanced.

2017 Top Prospects

Alex Belch  - RHP - 2017 - Rochester, MN - USA
Belch is a very interesting young 2017 pitching prospect with three present pitches he pounds the strike zone with, including a fastball up to 84 mph.

Zach Parks  - SS - 2017 - Lakeville, MN - USA
Parks has a nice projectable 6-foot-2, 165-pound build and already runs and throws at a high level. His left handed swing is loose with the beginnings of some real bat speed, too.

Izaya Ono-Fullard  - 3B - 2017 - North Liberty, IA - USA
Ono-Fullard is much stronger than the average 2017 and it really shows in how hard he hits the ball. He also showed his athleticism defensively at third base and his potential on the mound, where he topped out at 83 mph with a sharp slider.

Mark Vierling  - SS - 2017 - St. Louis, MO - USA
Vierling has a broad base of athletic and hitting tools to develop, especially if he's able to stay at shortstop as he continues to grow and mature physically.

Jake Gilbert  - RHP - 2017 - Ankeny, IA - USA
Gilbert looks the part of the power hitting first baseman at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds and swings the bat like it, too. The ball really comes off his bat hard for his age. We liked the energy he brought to the field as well.

Anthony Alepra  - RHP - 2017 - Cedar Rapids, IA - USA
Alepra shows two-way potential and has a very projectable 6-foot-3, 170-pound frame to go with his present athleticism. He ran a 6.72 sixty, threw three solid innings while striking out six hitters and swung the bat with power.

Ty Buckner  - RHP - 2017 - St. Louis, MO - USA
Buckner topped out at 82 mph on the mound with both a curveball and slider but we were just as impressed by his ability as a right handed hitter. The Missouri native had one of the nicest swings of any player at the showcase.

Johnny Buckner  - RHP - 2017 - Grayslake, IL - USA
Buckner topped out at 84 mph with a quick, compact arm action that hides the ball from the hitter. He also swung the bat very well in the games.

Tyler Hillman  - MIF - 2017 - Pella, IA - USA
Hillman's right handed bat stood out, especially on a middle infielder. He has an excellent path to the ball with nice loose extension out front and some present bat speed.

Jarred Wood  - RHP - 2017 - Cedar Rapids, IA - USA
Wood has a long and strong arm action that produced a fastball that got up to 84 mph with more velocity to come. His low to mid-70's breaking ball was a strong second pitch.

2018 Top Prospects

Connor Van Scoyoc  - RHP - 2018 - Cedar Rapids, IA - USA
2016 LHP/OF Spencer Van Scoyoc's little brother might soon catch him in size and may eventually catch him in talent on the baseball field as well.

Miko Rodriguez  - OF - 2018 - Ada, MI - USA
Rodriguez has a hitting approach and overall aggressiveness in his swing that is very advanced for his age. He stood out even among older players with his bat and is going to be a fun player to watch develop over the next four years.

Ryne Schooley  - LHP - 2018 - Iowa City, IA - USA
Schooley looks the part of the young pitching prospect with a 6-foot-1, 165-pound build and is already throwing consistently in the upper 70's to go with surprising pitchability for his age.
